Sprawa barbarzyńcy. Reaktyw
nej Grecji należał do sfery niezrozumiałej i nieprzejrzy
stej, posługiwał się bełkotliwą mową i miał dziwaczne
zwyczaje. Nastał jednak wiek dziewiętnasty, panowie
w korkowych kapeluszach z notesami w dłoni pojawili
się w dżungli i pojmali barbarzyńcę, skatalogowali go,
odsłonili, obnażyli i opisali, a niejaki Lewis Morgan przy
dzielił mu środkowy spośród trzech szczebli na swojej
trzystopniowej drabinie rozwoju cywilizacji. Trzeba było
lat, by barbarzyńca znów zaczął zaskakiwać, by to, co
oswojone, stało się obce. Takjakzaskakuje futurystyczna
czcionka w tytule czasopisma, surrealizm jął przetwa
rzać naszą wygodną i oswojoną rzeczywistość: tworzyć
Dlatego badacze porzucili klarow
ne, optymistyczne teorie, jak ewolucjonizm, w którym
wszystko idzie ku lepszemu i kończy się happy endem,
a zwrócili się ku dziedzinom mniej zrozumiałym — fizyce
kwantowej i teorii nieokreśloności.
Dlatego
nie ograniczamy się tylko do jednej metody. Może go
i reportaż. Takjakzwiedza się wunderkamerę czy gabinet
osobliwości, my próbujemy zdobywać wiedzę o barba
rzyńcy, gromadzimy rozmaite wątki. Dlatego interesuje
nas film i architektura, chcemy dotrzeć do mitu Europy,
Zapraszamy do lektury nowego, jedenastego numeru
reaktywowanego „Barbarzyńcy".
